All our fabrics are certified at the highest EU standards. This means that they are free from harmful chemicals. They also meet the requirements for high intensity of use in the home and are tested for pilling, colour and lightfastness as well as tear and abrasion resistance.
Every piece of furniture has a number of properties that determine its appearance and comfort and may vary from model to model. These are important to know about, so you know what to expect.
All upholstery should be protected from direct sunlight. Regardless of the how high the level of the covering’s lightfastness is, it cannot stand being placed directly in the sun.
Color fastness to light
Colorfastness to light is the ability to resist sunlight. No matter how high the color fastness to light is, we do not recommend the furniture to be placed in direct sunlight.
All of the upholstered furniture pieces should be protected from the direct sunlight to prevent fading out of the fabric. While exposed over long time the fabric might change the colors in the most exposed places.
We are aware of that it is challenging to comply with it in most of homes therefore we set high standards for our suppliers.
Those can be measured in the Lightfastness scale from 1-8, where 1 is the lowest and 8 is the highest.
An increase of one point on the scale, corresponds to a doubling of lightfastness (the scale, is a so-called doubling scale). This means that a furniture fabric with e.g., lightfastness 5, is twice as good as one with lightfastness 4.
A fabric with colorfastness to light 3-4 Is medium. That is the minimum we recommend for the indoor conditions.
If your interior is bathed in sun then you should probably choose bright fabrics, as they are less exposed to fading over time.
